# Crop PDF pages

> Trim the margins of PDF pages by dragging a frame on a preview or typing margins in millimetres. Apply to every page or just one. Free, private, in your browser.

Trim white margins or keep just part of a page by dragging a frame on the preview.

## Key facts

- **Price:** Free, no sign-up, no watermark
- **Upload:** Never: the file is processed on your device
- **Works on:** Any recent browser on a computer, iPhone, iPad or Android
- **Files:** Up to 400 MB per PDF on a computer, 150 MB on iPhone and iPad. Larger files depend on your device's memory.
- **Updated:** October 1, 2026

Drag the frame or its handles, or type the margins in millimetres. The crop is applied as a crop box: readers show only the area inside the frame. Content outside is hidden rather than erased, which the result reminds you about.

## How it works

1. Drop the PDF.
2. Drag the frame on the preview, or type the margins; choose all pages or this page only.
3. Select Crop PDF and download the result.

## Supported files

Input: one PDF. Output: one PDF.

Up to 400 MB per PDF on a computer, 150 MB on iPhone and iPad. Larger files depend on your device's memory.

## When to use it

- Remove wide white margins to read a PDF more comfortably on a phone.
- Keep only the useful area of a scanned page.
- Prepare slides or posters for printing without borders.

## Quality and limitations

- Cropping hides content; it does not delete it. To remove hidden content for good, use Flatten everything afterwards.
- The same margins apply to every page when pages have different sizes.

## Common issues

- **The crop looks different on another page.** Margins are measured from each page's edges. Choose This page only and crop pages one at a time if they differ.
- **My printer ignores the crop.** Some printers use the full page. Use Flatten everything after cropping to print exactly the visible area.

## Private by design

This tool runs entirely in your browser with JavaScript. Your file is read and processed on your device and is never uploaded to a server. Closing the tab discards everything.

## Frequently asked questions

### Is cropping reversible?

Your original file is untouched. In the cropped copy, the hidden part still exists in the file.

### Does cropping reduce the file size?

No, because hidden content is kept. Use [Compress PDF](https://nimbopdf.com/compress-pdf/) if you need a smaller file.

### Is my PDF uploaded?

No. It is cropped in your browser.
