Merging copies the pages of each PDF into a new file, exactly as they are: no re-compression, no quality loss, links and text kept. Each file shows a preview of its first page and its page count, so you always know what goes where.

## How it works

1. Drop your PDFs or choose them. Add more at any time.
2. Drag the files into order. Optionally type which pages to keep from a file, like 1-3, 8.
3. Select Merge PDF, then download the combined file.

## Quality and limitations

- Password-protected PDFs must be unlocked first.
- Bookmarks (the outline) of the original files are not carried over.
- Very large merges depend on your device's memory: on iPhone, keep the total under about 300 MB.

## Common issues

- **One file shows “can't be read”.** It is damaged, not really a PDF, or protected by a password. Remove it from the list, or open it in a [PDF reader](https://nimbopdf.com/pdf-reader/) and save a new copy, then add that copy.
- **The merged file is bigger than expected.** Merging keeps every page at full quality. Run the result through [Compress PDF](https://nimbopdf.com/compress-pdf/) to make it lighter.
