Drag the frame or its handles, or type the margins in millimetres. The crop is applied as a crop box: readers show only the area inside the frame. Content outside is hidden rather than erased, which the result reminds you about.
How it works
- Drop the PDF.
- Drag the frame on the preview, or type the margins; choose all pages or this page only.
- Select Crop PDF and download the result.
Supported files
Input: one PDF. Output: one PDF.
Up to 400 MB per PDF on a computer, 150 MB on iPhone and iPad. Larger files depend on your device's memory.
When to use it
- Remove wide white margins to read a PDF more comfortably on a phone.
- Keep only the useful area of a scanned page.
- Prepare slides or posters for printing without borders.
Quality and limitations
- Cropping hides content; it does not delete it. To remove hidden content for good, use Flatten everything afterwards.
- The same margins apply to every page when pages have different sizes.
Common issues
- The crop looks different on another page.
- Margins are measured from each page's edges. Choose This page only and crop pages one at a time if they differ.
- My printer ignores the crop.
- Some printers use the full page. Use Flatten everything after cropping to print exactly the visible area.
Private by design
This tool runs entirely in your browser with JavaScript. Your file is read and processed on your device and is never uploaded to a server. Closing the tab discards everything.
Frequently asked questions
Is cropping reversible?
Your original file is untouched. In the cropped copy, the hidden part still exists in the file.
Does cropping reduce the file size?
No, because hidden content is kept. Use Compress PDF if you need a smaller file.
Is my PDF uploaded?
No. It is cropped in your browser.
