Choose how to split and every page preview shows which file it will end up in. Pages are copied unchanged, so each new PDF keeps the original quality. When there are several files, they come in a single ZIP.
How it works
- Drop the PDF you want to split.
- Choose Every page, Custom ranges (like 1-3, 4-9, 10-) or Every N pages, and check the colored groups.
- Select Split PDF and download the files.
Supported files
Input: one PDF. Output: PDF files, delivered in a ZIP when there is more than one.
Up to 400 MB per PDF on a computer, 150 MB on iPhone and iPad. Larger files depend on your device's memory.
When to use it
- Send each chapter of a long report as its own file.
- Separate a batch of scanned documents into individual PDFs.
- Cut a large file into parts small enough for an upload form.
Quality and limitations
- Password-protected PDFs must be unlocked first.
- Each part keeps its pages but not the original bookmarks.
- Some phones open ZIP files in the Files app; tap the ZIP to extract it.
Common issues
- My range is rejected.
- Use page numbers that exist in the document, separated by commas: 1-3, 4-6, 8-. A range ending with a dash goes to the last page.
- I only need some pages in one file.
- Use Extract PDF pages instead: it creates a single PDF from the pages you select.
Private by design
This tool runs entirely in your browser with JavaScript. Your file is read and processed on your device and is never uploaded to a server. Closing the tab discards everything.
Frequently asked questions
Does splitting reduce quality?
No. Pages are copied as they are.
How are the files named?
Each file is numbered and shows its page range, for example report-02_p4-6.pdf.
Is my PDF uploaded?
No. It is split in your browser; nothing is sent to a server.
