PDF files carry hidden properties: a title, an author (often your account name), the software used and dates. Edit them, or remove everything in one click, including the XMP copy that some apps read instead.
How it works
- Drop the PDF.
- Edit the fields, or choose Remove all metadata.
- Download the updated PDF.
Supported files
Input: one PDF. Output: one PDF.
Up to 400 MB per PDF on a computer, 150 MB on iPhone and iPad. Larger files depend on your device's memory.
When to use it
- Remove your name from a document before publishing it.
- Give a PDF a proper title, shown in browser tabs and search results.
- Clean properties left by the software that created the file.
Quality and limitations
- Metadata is not the content: names inside the pages are not changed.
- Password-protected PDFs must be unlocked first.
Common issues
- My reader still shows the old title.
- Close and reopen the new file; some apps cache properties.
- The author field is empty but my name still appears.
- It may be written on the pages themselves, which metadata editing doesn't change.
Private by design
This tool runs entirely in your browser with JavaScript. Your file is read and processed on your device and is never uploaded to a server. Closing the tab discards everything.
